Miss Sugarpuss and Seska Lee Present The Sweet Dream Soirée

September 15th, 2008
MainLine Theatre (3997 St-Laurent Blvd.)
11pm
$10

Montrealers be warned! Miss Sugarpuss and Miss Seska Lee’s Home for Wayward Girls is in danger of being shut down!

Lustily administrated by two of the finest burlesque babes this side of Mont-Royal, the boarding school provides solace for lost and downtrodden sex kittens, sirens, vixens, pinup pretties, and buxom bombshells.

After deciding to use their powers of seduction for good and not evil (much to Miss Sugarpuss’ dismay), these burley-q queens opened their charitable shimmy center and called it the Home For Wayward Girls, in compliance with the stuffy laws of Mountainland, a small but somehow familiar burg bursting with ladies in need of some striptease-schooling. Through a strict curriculum of necessary skills such as pastie-polishing and boa-folding, the school has been churning out cheeky chicas faster than you can say ‘nipple-tassle!’

The only problem is that Miss Sugarpuss seems to have developed a nasty habit of hoarding away reams of unpaid bills, and it’s starting to add up in more ways than the obvious one! With sequins and sparkles to procure, and with hungry, luscious mouths to feed, (not to mention feeding a teensy-weensy alcohol addiction) the ladies must figure out a way to save their school before it’s too late!

“I can’t stand it anymore! If only life were easy and carefree!! If only I weren’t such a bad financial planner! If only life were like a…a dream….” – Miss Sugarpuss

“Get your hands off of me, madam! I will have no part in your dirty dirty dirty charade! You’re on your own this time.” - Butler

“So, Miss Sugarpuss? What’s in that box?” - Miss Seska Lee

“Who are you and why are you trying to quote me? I don’t even know what show you’re talking about! Get away from me!” – Random Guy on Street

See how it all unravels on Saturday, September 15th at the MainLine Theatre, 3997 St-Laurent Blvd. Doors open at 11:30 and the show begins at midnight. Tickets are $10 at the door. Featuring Lola Lamb, Luci Furr, Marianne Cheesecake, Monsieur E. Norme as well as a few surprisingly special guests.

Miss Sugarpuss and Seska Lee Present The Spooky Spooktacular

October 13th, 2007
MainLine Theatre (3997 St-Laurent Blvd.)
11pm
$10

Montrealers be warned! Miss Sugarpuss and Miss Seska Lee’s Home for Wayward Girls is haunted!

Something is seriously wrong at the Home for Wayward Girls! After a saucy September spent sashaying for the masses who love them, those beautiful burlesque queens, Miss Sugarpuss and Miss Seska Lee, have shimmied themselves into financial ruin and unless they act quickly, the School will be shut down!

As Hallowe’en draws near and the evenings grow colder and spookier, the Ladies must figure out a way to make their house a charitable and completely non-taxable institution before it’s too late. With the help of their loopy Accountant, who has been getting weirder as the full moon waxes, and the ample support of the Home’s sultry striptease students, they decide to go on a Ghost Hunt to see if they can enlist the help of the Home’s supposed Spirit-population.

Sounds simple enough, but with Miss Lee’s increasing addiction to a mysterious Tonic for her nerves, the Girls dying all over the house faster than a twirling pastie, and Miss Sugarpuss’ increasing suspicion and paranoia, it looks like the situation might be more dire than they thought!! Will anyone be left standing long enough to save the Home, or will they ALL DIE before they can remove any clothing at all?

“My, aren’t we jumpy today? Well, Girls, it’s only going to get worse. Not only is it Halloween, but Accountant is coming over tonight to go though my box…errr…our boxes…of receipts!! Aargh!” - Miss Sugarpuss

“STOP! STOP! Are you trying to kill me?!?” - Miss Seska Lee

“I feel a presence here ze moment I valk in ze doooor. I feel an intruder, I feel somsing doesn’t belong.” – Olga

Miss Sugarpuss and Seska Lee Present The Cocktail Hour

November 10th, 2007
MainLine Theatre (3997 St-Laurent Blvd.)
11pm
$10

Press Release: Saucy and Sotted Sirens of Strip Stage Schmaltzy Show for Scratch!

Now that The Home For Wayward Girls is facing certain financial ruin, the fabulously frazzled Miss Sugarpuss and the effervescently enfeebled Miss Lee decide to make one final attempt at fundraising glory with A Good Ol’ Fashioned Variety Show. Much to the Ladies’ dismay, however, such an archaic and outmoded form of entertainment proves to be more work than they ever could have bargained for!

Down to their last few students and as poor and burlesque-ily bohemian as you can get (sparkly legwarmers, anyone?), the Ladies and their motley cast drunkenly stumble through the grueling and thankless task of producing, writing, directing and performing their Medieval-themed masterpiece, dubbed “Ye Olde Cocktaile Houre.”

Forced to mine emotional depths no one ever thought they had, and to find motivation for every glove snap, boa whirl, and pastie twirl proves to be too much for the Ladies. The Home’s rampant alcoholic beverage consumption reaches an all-time high as show-time draws closer; tickets aren’t selling, the students are getting belligerent and punchy, and Miss Sugarpuss can barely stand! It’s la Bohème with Booze and Boobies!

Will the show go off without a hitch and, more importantly, will their clothes do the same? Will Miss Sugarpuss make it through the show, or will she have to get her stomach pumped…AGAIN? Will anyone come to see their quaint little show and generate enough profit for the Ladies to keep the Home open?

“No, no NO!! My God, what have you been doing in Bumping 101? And Boa-Folding 305?? Have you learned ANYTHING at this school? Do it AGAIN!! And maybe this time you won’t SUCK! Argh! MUSIC!!” - Miss Lee

“Ahh…you remind me of my childhood Miss Lee! I was 3, and Dear Old Mumsy used to yell at me just like that before I did my specialty act in those old vaudie-ville houses. Her booze breath mixed well with the stench of greasepaint, handsy old magicians and catty showgirls who wanted nothing more than to see me, Tiny Miss HappyPuss and her Spinning Top Tapdance, fail miserably! OHH! The halcyon days are gone! GONE!!” - Miss Sugarpuss

Bring your best flasks and come on out to see for yourselves, November 10th at MainLine Theatre, 3997 Boulevard St. Laurent. The show begins at 11pm and tickets are $10 at the door. Featuring L. Diablo, Lola Lamb, Monsieur E. Norme, Bobby Strumpfhose and other special guests.
